One thing that would help is if all the Fergie era layers stop trashing the club at the smallest hint of underperformance as they previously did under all the post Fergie managers.
I mean we get it, in their day they all were chest bashing give it all heroes in their time and they don't take crap etc etc, but there comes a point where it just undermines confidence, and in hindsight, they did this almost immediately post Fergie and never relented, if partly to up their own achievements.
They should follow Fergie's example where he never openly criticised the manager or club after his departure as he knew the weight of words as a club legend could do a lot of damage.
I think the new manager was right to not keep Rudd, it's his choice. He should get rid of Fletcher, Worse Utd player ever. Martinez need to be let go also, great player but his injuries are to frequent now. Rashford for also be shown the door, he has had more than enough time but is still not producing, best for him and the club he moves on. Good luck to the new manager.
The failure of the CEO glazer, the board members and Sir Alex Ferguson never planned or trained a manager for “ succession plan 2013 effecting today “
Eric did what he could but he didn’t have strong leadership and tactics skill as Pep G.
Or adopt Real Madrid ownership style own by Fan.
Want trophies? Do this 2 things.
For new manager
1. Give him more control of the club. Let him be creative so he can connect with the players on a personal level, much like John Terry was ready to die for José 2006.
Also, like Sir Alex, he had cared for most players so they listened to him instead of the club owners and management’s nonsense back in his time.
2. Don’t let all the power and control rest with the CEO and board members through micromanaging.
Welcome to Manchester United. Please help our Club and players regain its Glory as we move into the next phase. I wish you strength and all the positivity you need.
I hope he does well but Utd has been here before. Too many disappointments since SAF left, I wont be convinced until I see real progress, not just the same old win two, draw one, win one, lose one etc etc. Not good enough in the PL to lose ANY games if you want to win the title.
We shall see his welcome at the pitch
My spirit tells me he cannot fail.
